It's man devouring man, my dear!

We had a good day yesterday.

Sasha was happy, polite, ate well, and slept.

I, however, showed what a bad mother I am. You see, while Sasha played, I watched Sweeney Todd.

I didn't think about it at the time, but Sasha dancing wildly to songs about baking people into pies should creep me out. But it didn't. I actually didn't even think about it.

Till it was pointed out to me.

It just struck me as funny, though. Probably because I grew up to songs like this and I turned out alright.

Am I totally alone in this?

Well, I've always loved the "I'm being eaten by a boa constrictor" song...

That's all I've got.

We've never admitted to anyone until now but we watched like 30 minutes of the Two Towers with Monkey in bed one night (he was teething and fussy). After a few orcs were stabbed with spears, we looked at each and without really saying much, changed the channel to something else.

It's not like they understand. YET. So I think you're probably fine for now.

I'm just wondering what our rules are going to be for more than half of our DVD collection when the Monkey gets older and CAN understand. Do you just hide the DVDs or state they are off limits and keep watch? I dunno. Maybe I'll start quizzing other parents with older children.
