Pollyana

I'm excitedly awaiting an order. One I have a feeling I should know better than to have put in.

Two beautiful varieties of Asian pear, several plants of bush cherry, blackberries, blueberries, raspberries...All in the effort to realizy my very simple-minded dream of my children playing in the yard and snacking on fruits growing organically and semi-neglected in our own yard. A dream that mirrors memories I have of growing up and grabbing a mango or some genepas while playing.

I should no better because I've tried planting foods in the yard before...

Our cherry trees? Dug up by the Hound; chewed to smithereens, and a few twigs carted around so she could play fetch by herself.

Our apple trees? ditto

Pumpkins? Exactly the same

Sweet potato? Hubby mowed them down with the lawn mower.

Strawberries? Repeat the above destructions my husband and hound ad infinitum (except strawberries don't actually die).

I apparently am insane. I appear to be following the definition very closely.

I'm giddy FOR you. Nothing like the arrival of plants in the mail to herald spring. Good luck with them!

I hope it works out this time!

We've planted two starts to blueberry bushes in our back yard. (And by "we" I mean my husband and his mom, because I have a black thumb.) We're hoping they come up this spring (or whenever blueberries bloom/fruit)!
