Because we can't do anything normally....

Yay, Sasha slept last night!!! And ate. Tons. Kind of a nightmare though with the constant hitting and biting. His hives did not get worse, though. The funny thing is, the daycare lady’s gloves? Nitrile powder-free. So apparently he has an issue with nitrile. We bought vinyl.

Kerrygirl is sick, as I thought. However, it doesn’t appear to be why I thought. Because our normal treatment for her allergies? Did. Not. Work. Actually, she got worse. That is, till I went to the cupboard and got her the drugs for treating giardia (yes, I have prescription veterinary meds just hanging around) and gave her some more sub-q fluids (maybe I should just open my own vet clinic) because her capillary refill rate was not what I’d like it to be.

This morning, it had been about 18 hours that she’d been on the new regimen and she was looking much, much better.

Amazing. The Hound is the one who drinks out of the scummy pond and eats human feces, but Kerrygirl is the one who gets sick.

We have an appointment in the morning, but I think we’ll be much better off by then. Seriously, if anyone out there wants a dog who’ll NEVER get sick...

I had some doctor’s appointments myself yesterday. Glad I went in for that skin cancer screening, despite being “awfully young to be concerned about it”. The eleventy-zillion moles that got sun (albeit screened by SPF 75)? Fine. The ones that have never ever seen the light of day? Problem.

ETA: I'm not really upset about my doctor's visit. Actually, given family history, I kinda thought it was a forgone conclusion and was more a question of "when" than "if". I'm just glad that I was mindful enough to go and that the issue is skin cancer, rather than another form...because it's so easy to keep up on and contain. SO--my PSA today is go get checked and get checked annually. It's easy, painless, and quick. All you need to do it go to a dermatologist and they look at you. And I mean look...no bloodtests, no nothing, unless of course they find something. And then it's simple and outpatient. Quick action can save you from larger surgeries, chemo, radiation...

Oh no! Are you getting the moles removed? I hope it's nothing major!

Glad that Sasha and Kerrygirl are doing better. Maybe you should be a vet!

Then it is a VERY good thing you went and got checked. Early detection, and all that.

Sick dogs are a giant pain in the ass. Sure you don't want another one, since you have a pet pharmacy on hand and everything?
