A Load Off

A huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

There was an issue that supposedly threatened my ability to keep my job. Demands for paperwork (that doesn’t exist) were made. Repeatedly. Explanations why it wouldn’t be forthcoming (why it doesn’t exist, why I wouldn’t have possession of it if it did, and why I couldn’t make copies of it for their use even if it both existed and I had it) were repeatedly made and seemed to be ignored.

I was sure that this was likely to be my last month of employ. Because the deadline I kept being quoted? Yep. Was absolutely positive today I’d be asked to pack up my things and vacate the premises.

Today I was notified that it was no longer deemed necessary. I could continue working without problem. I'm not sure what happened. But I am just happy it did.

*breathes a giant sigh of relief*

This is by no means the sum of what our problems are that have had me in knots the past month. But it is one that the resolution makes them ALL far more bearable. After all, I’m the primary bread-winner. It’s my pay that we can live off of with a little scrimping, not his. His is by no means safe either, what with talks of layoffs in the coming schoolyears. But hey, now we know that we'll continue making the mortgage and all those other necessaries.

That must have been so nerve-wracking! I'm glad it worked out, even if you don't know why.

I can't even imagine how much of a pain in the ass that had to be. So glad it all worked out!
